2
Page through a catalog with him. Point out the dos and don’ts. Men are visual creatures. They need to see the problem before they can do anything about it. Using catalogs to illustrate your point will help dramatically.

Tips & Warnings
Flattery will get you everywhere. If you want a guy to listen to you, appeal to his ego. Tell him how sophisticated a new haircut would make him look, or how a new pair of jeans would accentuate his nice butt. It may seem manipulative, but if you're being honest, there's no harm done. If you appeal to his ego, he'll sit up and take notice.
Speak in concrete terms. Be specific about what you like, and don't like, and be able to illustrate it. Men truly are visual learners and concrete thinkers. If you tell him a shirt looks "icky" on him, or his haircut is too "floppy", he won't have any idea what you're talking about. Instead, tell him the shirt is too tight to be flattering, and his hair needs to be cut shorter. And, if at all possible, point out examples of what you're talking about. Only then will he begin to understand.
