How to Visit to Helena, Montana

      Visit the State Capitol Building. You can take a guided tour or walk the halls in exploration. The State Capitol Building is home to one of Charlie Russell’s most famous paintings, Lewis and Clark Meeting Indians at Ross Hole.

      Challenge yourself by hiking up Mount Helena. Mount Helena features 630 acres of trails that wind their way from the bottom of the mountain to the mountain’s peak.

      Spend a day skating. Skaters of all ages will find that Helena Skate Park offers the perfect way to spend an afternoon topped off by a visit to Centennial Water Slide Park.

  • If you go to Helena's parks and lakes, always follow the rules as posted. Brush fires are a real hazard in the hot summer months, making fires illegal on many hot summer days.

  • Watch "Legends of the Fall" before your journey. Some of the modern classic film is set in Helena.
