How to Visit Trip to Boerne, Texas

The United States has so much to offer in the form of natural beauty. Even small towns have much to offer. There is a vastness of heritage, beauty, history and charm that makes this country so wonderful. There is a small town located around 22 miles from San Antonio Texas called Boerne, located in the foothills of Texas. In Boerne. you will find museums, hiking, golfing, shopping, bike trails, creeks and magnificent underground caves available for your enjoyment. Here is how to enjoy Boerne Texas.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Arriving in Boerne, take a walk over to the gazebo that sits in the center of town and let the old German charm of a small town embrace you. Stroll along the Main Plaza and visit the local shops, antique shops, restaurants. Visit the second oldest courthouse in Texas, which in on Main Street and was build in 1870.

  2. Step 2

    After your tour of the downtown section of Boerne, get in your car and drive to the Cibolo Nature Center. Here you can hike through acres of towering cypress trees along Cibolo Creek. Take your camera and bottled water with you. Take pictures of the oak, juniper and cyprus trees that provide a shade for you to walk through.

  3. Step 3

    Continue on up Woodland Trail to the bluff overlooking Cibolo Creek. You can wander down to the creek itself and walk along the shore. You will see turtles, bass, perch and catfish. Stop by the souvenir shop before you leave.

  4. Step 4

    Drive down to Cascade caverns for a trip beneath the surface. The Cascade Caverns has a 100-foot waterfall for your delight at the end of the hour long tour. The cave is a half mile long and 140 feet deep. Some of the rock formations that you can see are a Giant Turtle, a Skull and the impressive Dinosaur. Drops of pure water still fall on unsuspecting tourists as they stroll through the cave.

  5. Step 5

    Go back to town and have dinner at one of the local German restaurants and enjoy the music and entertainment offered by this quaint town.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear walking shoes, sunscreen and take bottle water with you. Do not forget your camera.
  • Watch your footing when you are in the caves. The floor can be slippery and remember not to touch the stalactites and stalagmites because the cave is still forming.
