How to Contact a Stockbroker
If you want to build a portfolio of stocks and make a little extra money for retirement, you need a stockbroker. Contacting a stockbroker requires more than a phone number. It requires knowledge about where you are, where you want to be and the resources you have to get there.

1
Understand the stock market. Stockbrokers trade stocks on Wall Street. They are on the floor of the stock exchange every day and understand the rise and fall of stocks better than anyone else.
-
2
Collect your financial information. In order to build your portfolio, you need to have a firm grasp of your financial situation. Many stock purchases require a minimum of 100 stocks purchased. The financial backing will need to be present before contacting the stock broker.

3
Research the market. Have some sort of idea where you want to invest your money. The stock broker will make money when you make money, but don't allow them to choose your investment path. You need to know about the market and the vector of the market in which you want to invest.

4
Find a stockbroker. Check out the potential stockbroker for experience and licenses. Ask about the commissions and fees he charges, and visit the office to find out more.
-
5
Decide online or offline. Many stockbrokers are working over the internet today as online stockbrokers. You have to decide whether you wish to meet the stockbroker in person or trust the online persona. For a local stockbroker, make sure to check local listings.
