How to Make a Wristband
If you have ever gone to a theme park, you are probably familiar with the colored wristbands that they provide to prove you are a paying customer. But that type of wristband can come in handy in other aspects of everyday life, whether you are a teacher trying to keep track of students on a class trip, or a mom trying to keep track of your kids on the beach. You can make your own identification wristbands with a short list of materials, and it is quite easy.
Things You'll Need
- 8-by-12 inch sheets of colored paper
- Contact paper
- Scissors
- Pens or other writing materials
- Embellishments
- Scotch tape
Instructions

1
Decide what color you would like your wristbands to be, and how many you will need. This will help you to determine how many sheets of paper you will need to purchase.
-
2
Mark off 1-inch sections with your ruler, and draw lines lengthwise across the sheet of paper.
-
-
3
Cut along the lines with your scissors. These will be your wristbands. Each one should be 12 inches in length.
-
4
Write your student's or child's personal information on the bracelet. You may also want to add designs or photos on your wristbands, as well.
-
5
Cut your contact paper with your scissors, the same length and twice the width, plus 1/4 inch. The cut contact paper will be used to cover your wristbands, with some excess to fold over and secure.
-
6
Cover each band with contact paper, this will make the wristband somewhat waterproof.
-
7
Wrap the wristband around the wrist of your child or student, and attach with scotch tape wrapped around it to secure.
-
8
Cut off any excess that is left over after you secure it. Your band is done!

Tips & Warnings
Safety information like allergies and alerts is also recommended to display on the wristbands.
Be sure not to secure the wristband too tightly around the wrist. You should have some breathing room between the skin and wristband material.
