How to Beat Ruby Weapon in Final Fantasy VII

Ruby Weapon is an important foe in Final Fantasy VII. Beating him gets you a Desert Rose which can be traded for a Golden Chocobo. His HP is 800,000 to 850,000, so you must be prepared for a difficult fight. He is immune to gravity and water and you will not be able to steal anything from him. There are a number of ways to make the fight easier.

Instructions

1. Kill two members of your party before fighting Ruby Weapon.

2. Equip Summon Phoenix on your remaining character, then run into Ruby Weapon. He will only attack the live character, so there is no reason for him to use the Quicksand attack.

3. Be prepared when Ruby Weapon sticks his claws into the ground. When he does, use Summon Phoenix to attack him and revive the two other characters in your party.

4. Use all three of your party members to finish the fight after having done significant damage to Ruby Weapon in the previous steps.
