It is a little known fact that a live Tuesday night Grand Ole Opry show exists in Nashville, Tennessee. It was put on hiatus for awhile; however, the live performance and radio show is back and bigger than ever, packed full of all your favorite singers and entertainers. You can enjoy being a part of this historical live radio broadcast. This is great if you have a Tuesday night to spare.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Transportation
  • Tickets
  • Schedule
  1. Step 1

Plan your trip by deciding which Tuesday you will be in Nashville. Check the Opry schedule for Tuesday evenings to see which stars are performing on stage the evening you will be in town. There are also the old standbys that routinely perform and live around Music City USA. There is a link within this article.

  2. Step 2

Purchase tickets on-line or by phone. Consider using a coupon from a tour book to save money or sitting in the balcony rows. You will still be able to view the show well from the balcony You can always walk down to the stage to take photos. Opry ticket offices are open before the show for your convenience, but you run the risk of the show being sold out or the best seats taken if you wait until the last minute to get your ticket.

  3. Step 3

Secure lodging within driving distance of the Grand Ole Opry. Lodging on the grounds is very expensive and you may have to pay for parking. There are many hotels located within 3 to 10 miles of the Opry.

  4. Step 4

Set aside a block of at least four hours because the Tuesday night Opry itself lasts about two and a half hours and there is also travel time to consider. You may want to check out the tourist attractions and other music performers on the Opry grounds visiting during the summer months.

  5. Step 5

Tour the free Grand Ole Opry museum located on the Opry grounds. This self-guided tour takes about 30 minutes and is an extremely informative and a pleasant journey, featuring life size replicas of your favorite stars.

  6. Step 6

Purchase food and drink. You are welcome to bring it in while you watch the show.
