The delicious scent of cinnamon brings about memories of holidays, Grandma's house and scrumptious hot iced rolls on a Sunday morning. Add the fresh, crisp scent of apples and you have an aroma that can leave you feeling refreshed and calm. What better way to enjoy this wonderful combination than in a warm, soothing bath. Bonus: no calories!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 6 cups sea salt or Kosher salt
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • Apple essential or fragrance oil
  • Cinnamon essential or fragrance oil
  • Vanilla fragrance oil or extract
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 large mixing bowls
  • Spoon or spatula
  • One large or several small containers, glass or plastic
  1. Step 1

Measure the salt and the baking soda into one of the large bowls. Mix well.

  2. Step 2

Add all of the oils to the salt and baking soda mixture. Stir well to coat the mixture with the combination of scents.

  3. Step 3

Remove half of the salt and place it in the other large mixing bowl. Add the cinnamon to this bowl and mix until thoroughly combined.

  4. Step 4

Cover both bowls and allow to stand and soak in the scents for about an hour.

  5. Step 5

Pour some of the mixture that is combined with cinnamon into the glass container. Fill the container about one-quarter full. Add a layer of the white salt mixture. Continue to layer until each container is full. To use, pour 1/4 to 1/2 cup into a tub of warm water.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tilt your jar at an angle when pouring in the layers of salt for a fun, candy cane stripe look.
