Step 1
Create a schedule that fits your family's needs as opposed to conforming to the 8-3 school schedule. You can include field trips and vacations that support what you are learning about. You can also include after school hour and weekend classes with other children.
-
Step 2
Tailor your curriculum to fit your child's learning style. You can nurture your child's natural talents in music and the arts this way too. If you child is more of a visual leaner you can add pictures and movies to help her learn in the way that works best for her.
-
Step 3
Provide in-depth personal attention in every subject. Also, if your child is extra enthusiastic about ancient Egypt, you can spend more time studying it. You can also work with other homeschool parents or tutors to fill in the missing gaps of your own knowledge.
-
Step 4
Share your values and beliefs with your child. You can share your ideas about history and literature in a way that aligns with what is important to you.
-
Step 5
Shelter them from bullying and outside influences. Creating a safe environment is much easier to do when the children are under your care and watchful eye. This way, you can be a witness to what is really going on for your child.
