Instructions

Place the print cartridge on top of several layers of newspaper. Use the small drill that is included with the refill package. Place the tip in the small hole at the top of the print cartridge. Turn clockwise to drill down into the print cartridge. It's important that you go all the way through the cartridge, or you won't be able to refill it. Don't worry about damaging the cartridge as the casing is thicker than you think.

    • 2

Plunge the needle into the hole you've just drilled. Press downward until you reach the bottom of the cartridge. Pull back out about 1/4-inch and begin slowly injecting the ink. Pull the needle out as you go very slowly.

    • 3

Watch carefully and when you see the ink start to come out of the hole, stop immediately. When you see ink bubble out the vent hole pull back on the plunger to refill about 1/5 of the syringe. Wipe off the top of the cartridge.

    • 4

Place the cartridge back into the printer. Print a couple of test pages to make sure the ink is flowing freely. After the first few pages, you should see the ink start to flow very smoothly.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the ink isn't flowing well at first, don't panic. Print a few pages until the ink runs smoothly.

  • Never tape over or plug the hole you drilled. Air has to be able to get into the cartridge as ink flows out, otherwise no ink will be able to leave the cartridge.
