How to Heal With Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus has long been used as an antiseptic and decongestant. From the aborigines of Australia, eucalyptus is known around the world for its soothing and healing properties. Eucalyptus warms and dries, which makes it an effective treatments for respiratory problems. It works as an anti-inflammatory and revives the tired mind.

Things You'll Need

• Eucalyptus oil
• Eucalyptus loose incense
• Charcoal incense burner
• Incense burning charcoal
• Peppermint oil
• Neroli oil
• Sweet almond oil
• Lemon oil
• Pine oil

Instructions

1. 

   Burn eucalyptus incense to enjoy its cleansing aroma. Use a charcoal incense burner and loose eucalyptus incense. Burn the incense gently.

2. 

   Apply eucalyptus as a healing balm. Melt one tablespoon of petroleum jelly in a bowl over hot water. Add six drops of eucalyptus oil and two drops of peppermint oil. Rub a tiny amount beneath your nostrils to clear your sinuses. Apply to cold sores.

3. 

   Treat cystitis with the antiseptic properties of eucalyptus. Enjoy a massage of the lower back, hips and abdomen. Prepare the massage oil by adding four or five drops each of eucalyptus oil and neroli oil to two tablespoons of sweet almond oil.

4. 

   Relieve congestion with a eucalyptus steam inhaler. Add two or three drops each eucalyptus oil, lemon and pine oil in a bowl of hot distilled water. Cover your head with a towel that drapes over the bowl and inhale the steam.

5. 

   Apply eucalyptus as a medicinal compress to sprains and strains. Add two or three drops of eucalyptus oil and five or six drops of lavender oil to a cold compress. Apply to affected area.
