It is on the east side of the Rhine, across the river from the Sankt Goarhausen and its Castle Rheinfels. You would drive north from Rudesheim or south from Koblenz on the east side of the river to reach the castle.

Park somewhere at the bottom of the hill in the town of Wellmich. You then must make the hike by foot to reach Castle Maus. There will be a clear path of either gravel or dirt the whole way to the top. The path is actually wide enough for cars, but only the employees of the castle are able to use the road with a vehicle.

The bird show starts generally at 11 am and either 2:30 or 3 pm each day, seasonally from mid-March to the beginning of October. Sometimes the season will run longer into October, depending on weather and interest.

Enjoy the show. The falconer has a few different trained birds, such as the falcon, eagle, and even an owl. They are trained to perform a show for you, where each bird flies out over the Rhine and returns to the trainer. There is even an opportunity to have a picture taken of yourself right beside one of the birds!
