How to Fold a Flag
You've just taken down a flag. Do you crumple it up in a pile or set it on the floor? Neither, of course. There is a proper way to fold a flag, and in this article, you will learn how to do just that. This can be done with flags of any size, but works best with ones that are medium to large.

1
Hold the flag by the corners at about waist high. Each person should have two corners encompassing one side of the flag, and the two people should be facing each other. The width of the flag should be facing each person holding it, while the length is spread out between the two people. The flag should be parallel to the ground.

2
Fold the flag in half lengthwise. Put the two ends together, and pull the flag taught. Hold both ends with one hand, while holding where the flag is folded with the other hand. Turn the flag where it is once again parallel to the ground. If the flag is a U.S. flag, the stars should be on the bottom.

Fold the flag in half again as in Step 2. Now the flag forms a long, thin rectangle. Once again, hold it so it is parallel to the ground.
