Adware is described as "any software package which automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertisments to a computer after the software is installed on it or while the application is being used. Some types of adware are also spyware and can be classified as privacy-invasive software."

  2. Step 2

Download and install a reliable, affordable (preferably free) adware removal program. There are several programs available for download. One of the best free programs available is Ad-Aware SE Personal by Lavasoft. Several other free programs include: Spyware Crusher, Spyware Doctor, SUPERAntiSpyware, Counter Spy, Malwarebytes Anti Malware, and Windows Defender.

  3. Step 3

Visit 2-Spyware which reviews several Spyware programs. Read through the in depth reviews on this site before choosing which spyware program is right for you.

Don't use any programs on your computer while it is being scanned, this can slow it down. Once the scan is complete, it will tell you whether you have an infections. If you do, simply click the check box next to it and either click Quarantine or Remove.
