How to Marbleize Paper
Creating the look of marble on paper is a great way to save money on greeting cards and wrapping paper. You can involve the kids in this quick and easy craft. Let them marbleize bookmarks, name tags and invitations, or have a marbleizing paper party and let them create with all their friends. They may come up with marble items you would never have thought of.

1
Fill the dishpan about halfway with water. Add 1-1/2 to 2 tbsp. of Borax. Let the water mixture sit for about 30 minutes.
-
2
Drip a drop of paint in the water. If it sinks, you will need to add more Borax and let it sit a little while longer. If it floats and falls apart on top of the water, then it is ready.

3
Drop more paint in the water and swirl it around gently, using the wood skewer. This will give you a marble design.
-
4
Carefully lay the paper on the surface of the water for a few seconds. Remove the paper using the tongs and lay it, paint-side up, on the newspaper to dry.
-
5
Add more paint and swirls to the water for each additional paper. You do not need to make fresh water. Only the paint on the top of the water is marbleizing your paper.
-
6
After the marble paper has dried, have fun crafting beautiful projects with one-of-a-kind paper.
