Seasonal allergies can slow anyone down. Keeping them under control can be hard. There are different things you can do, and try, in order to achieve a more comfortable life without allergies.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Allergy Medicine
  • Humidifier
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Vacuum
  1. Step 1

Visit your doctor. This way you can ensure that you are dealing with allergies. Your doctor can prescribe medicine that can really help with your allergies. He can also monitor you to make sure you are on the right medication. Doctors also can provide you with ideas of how to better manage allergies.

  2. Step 2

Try over the counter medication. There are many brands to choose from. If you are just experiencing indoor allergies, there is a medicine just for that. You should be able to find medication for your type of allergy. If you are unsure of what to buy, get a medicine that treats all kinds of allergies.

  3. Step 3

Remove the problem from your environment. If dust is a real problem for you, clean until every spec of dust is gone. If you are having trouble with pet dander, find a different place for your pets or keep them really clean and groomed all of the time. You will also need to vacuum and dust a lot. This will get rid of the dander in your house.

  4. Step 4

Install a humidifier. The stand alone humidifiers are inexpensive compared to the ones that are installed professionally. This will allow moisture to stay in the air and will help keep your sinuses from drying out.

  5. Step 5

Take control of your environment. This is the best way to help yourself fight seasonal allergies. You will have to do what you think is necessary to find relief. Most people suffer with some form of allergy. Finding the right way to take care of it is the challenge.

on 6/17/2009 Instead of taking OTC medicines, I drink Traditional Medicinals Breathe Easy tea. It has been clinically proven as an effective means to improve sinus health. It is also 100% organic and fair trade. Check it out at traditionalmedicinals.com!

on 9/18/2008 You are dead on about taking control of and controling the things that you can. You may not be able to have totalk relief outside your home, but there is no reason that, within your own house, you can't adjust things and conditions to benefit your condition.
