How to Draw a Shoe

Drawing a shoe can be a bit of a challenge. If you follow these directions, you will learn how to draw a shoe quickly and easily. Of course, there are many types and styles of shoes, but once you learn how to draw this basic shoe design, creating variations of it will be easy. Here are the directions on how to draw a shoe.

Things You'll Need

• Paper
• Pencil

Instructions

1. 

   Draw a straight line on paper. This is what ground or surface that your shoe will rest on.

2. 

   Draw two ellipses (flat circles) on your straight line. First a small one and then a larger one as shown in the image.

3. 

   Draw a line over the small circle and under the large circle. Follow the shapes of the ellipses. Use this line to create the sole of your shoe by drawing a second line that goes under both circles but has a very slight wave in the center as shown in the photo. This will create the sole of the shoe.

4. 

   Draw a curved line at the back of the heel of the shoe.

5. 

   Draw another curved line directly above the first small ellipse as the opening of the shoe.

6. 

   Draw another line that curves down the large circle, and this will complete the shoe.

7. 

   Add details to your basic shoe to turn it into a sneaker, a sandal or any other type of shoe

8. 

   To draw a woman’s heeled shoe, replace the first smaller circle with a rectangle or spike shape to represent the heel.
