Acceptance is a major part in dealing with the death of a loved one. A person has to realize what has happened and not try to live in a fantasy world. Don't pretend your mom is on vacation, because this will only make things harder.

    • 2

Talk to someone about how losing your mom has made you feel. Don't shut people out, because this will only lead to depression.

    • 3

Do whatever it takes to keep your mom alive in your memory. Remember the good times and know and believe that someday you will be reunited. Don't ever let anyone tell you that this life is it.

    • 4

Spend lots of time with people who love and care about you. They will be your comfort and shoulder to cry on if things get hard. Never be ashamed to grieve over the loss of your mother.

Finally, don't ever let anyone tell you to get over it. We are all different and we all grieve in different ways. It may take years for you to finally accept that your mom is gone. It took me almost ten years to accept the fact that I wouldn't see my mom again in this lifetime. Today, I am happily married and have children of my own. I owe everything I have to God!
