Prickly heat or summer rash the most common of summer rashes, is caused by the bodies sweat glands becoming clog. The trapped sweat causes inflammation and itching. Mostly showing up in areas where skin touches skin. It has also shown up on the shoulders, neck and back.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Keep the affected area clean and cool. Drink a glass of water with one drop of Peppermint oil. This will cool the body down.

  2. Step 2

    After showering dry well. Using a blow dryer helps. Powder the body with a good medicated powder. Creams and lotions with cortisone are sometimes used but with little affect as they do not keep the area cool and dry.

  3. Step 3

    At night treatments can help with the itching and inflammation.

  4. Step 4

    Using the pulp of a tomato, spread over affected area. Used green tea bags are used to cool the area. Spraying the body with rose water can also help cool the body. Also using three parts baking soda to one part water, apply to area.

  5. Step 5

    Other remedies include Calamine lotion for itching. Anti fungal sprays, witch hazel and white vinegar with water.
