Want a quick laugh? Here is how to prank your friend in less than a minute if your friend leaves the computer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PC
  • Your friend away from his/her computer for about 1 minute.
  1. Step 1

Your friend walked away from the computer for a minute so now is your chance.

    1. Minimize all the windows so you are looking at the desktop.

  2. Step 2

    2. Press the print screen button located near the Scroll Lock at the top right of the keyboard.

  3. Step 3

    3. Click on the start button, and type mspaint in the run box. This will open microsoft paint brush.

    4. From the menu in mspaint select
    Edit - Paste
File - Set as Background (Centered)

You will be asked to save the file. You can save it as 1.jpg

    5. Close mspaint.

    6. Now you are looking at the desktop again. Click on the internet explorer icon and delete it. (This can easily be added back later)

At this point, it doesn't look like anything is different, but under each icon is the icon's picture. If you try to click on the internet explorer icon, nothing happens, because you are clicking on the picture, not the icon. All the other icons are still on the desktop and work.

    7. Sit back and watch your friend go crazy trying to start the web browser.

Tips & Warnings
  • It looks like a bunch of steps, but this process can be done very fast, in as little time as it takes to grab a paper from the printer in the next room.
  • Ok, prank is over, everyone had a laugh, and now your friend wants the icon back, now what?
  • The icon is located in C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer
  • drag iexplorer.exe to the desktop to make another shortcut.
