Make INCREDIBLE Chocolate Chip Cookies EASY

Learn how to make wonderful, delicious, incredible chocolate chip cookies!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 CUPS of All-Purpose Flour
  • 1½ CUP of All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1¼ CUP Granulated Sugar
  • 1¼ CUP Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 TABLESPOON Vanilla
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 TEASPOON Baking Soda
  • ½ TEASPOON Salt
  • 1 11oz bag of Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 1 11oz bag of Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  1. Step 1

Heat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, mix shortening, granulated and brown sugar, vanilla, and eggs on medium speed, or with a spoon until fluffy.

  2. Step 2

Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. (The dough will be stiff.) Stir in chocolate chips. If the dough is almost too tough to stir and the chips aren't forming into the dough, then you can add a teaspoon of melted butter to the mix to soften the batter.

  3. Step 3

Roll the dough into balls slightly smaller than golf size. Place onto an ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly with your hands.

Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until light brown. (Centers will be soft). Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Makes about 3 to 6 dozen cookies depending on the size.

If you enjoy nuts in your cookies: Simply stir in 2 cups of coarsely chopped nuts with the chocolate chips.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tip: If you like slightly flatter cookies, you can half the shortening with butter. I usually stay away from using butter with cookies as it melts and flattens the cookie.
  • Tip 2: I've also used peanut butter chips in place of the semisweet and it turned out to be fabulous! You can use any kind of chips and these cookies will always taste perfect. Enjoy!
