How to convert a gas stove to lp (propane)

Often times when people live in rural areas the gas company does not supply gas to homes, therefore a propane tank is installed outside the dwelling.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • screwdriver set,no.7 mm nut driver,wrench
  1. Step 1

    There is a kit that comes with all manufactured stoves. The kit is attached to the underside of the oven cavity. Remove the kit and look at the instructions, They will tell you which color orifice goes to which burner

  2. Step 2

    Remove the orifice from the burner and install the new ones

  3. Step 3

    Now remove the cap from the gas regulator and flip it over then reinstall it

  4. Step 4

    Now look inside the oven you will see the main burner tube at the point of entry there will be an adjustable orifice, With a wrench turn the orifice clockwise until it bottoms out

  5. Step 5

    If the oven is equipped with a broiler you will need to do the same to the broiler orifice

  6. Step 6

    hook up the gas stove and turn the gas on. Most new stoves have electronic ignition so you don't have to light a pilot just turn the knob and the flame lites

Tips & Warnings
  • Always check for leaks with a soapy water solution
