How to Make Homemade Macaroni and Cheese

American classic. It's better homemade.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Uncooked macaroni
  • Velveeta cheese
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Milk
  1. Step 1

    Make macaroni according to box. As the water boils, heat milk and slices of Velveeta cheese in a saucepan. Stir.

    You can make this as cheesy as you like, but a whole block of Velveeta may be a bit much.

  2. Step 2

    As the Velveeta melts into the milk, add slices of cheddar. Stir.

    Again, make it as cheesy as you like.

  3. Step 3

    Pour unrinsed, drained macaroni into an oven-safe dish. The cheese mixture should now be soupy. Pour it over the macaroni. Mix together.

  4. Step 4

    Put shredded cheddar on top of the mixture. Cover and bake in 350-degree oven until shredded cheddar has melted.

  5. Step 5

    Serve hot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add ham chunks or bacon (or both)
  • Alter amounts of cheese and noodles to your liking
