Step1
It is understandable why most people seem overwhelmed. Money, family, relationships, jobs, schedules all are very demanding. It is important to identify what is biggest stressor, in order to identify where to ask for help.
Step2
Write down all stressors. Be specific. For example: Don't write lack of time, write lack of time to do bills, or laundry or read a book, etc. You need to understand where you need help the most, in order to ask for help.
Step3
Pick your top 3 current stressors, where you feel you need help.
Step4
Identify all possible solutions. What can you do to help yourself or what specifically are you going to ask of others to help you.
Step5
Identify all possible people who could help you. For example, do you need help with keeping up with lawn care. Could a neighborhood teenage be hired? If it is money, do you have a few people you could ask to borrow a little from each?
Step6
If you are worried about asking, write down what you want to say. Practice it over and over until you feel more comfortable. Asking for help may be difficult, but can help you in the end.
Step7
Tell yourself "It is ok to ask for help". You will be no worse off if the answer is no. In addition, people cannot read your mind. You will have to ask for help in order to possibly get what you need.
Step8
If you go to 1 person and they are unable to help you, go to the next person on your list.
Step9
Most people are not offended with being asked for something if it is within reason. There is no shame in asking for help. Friends, family, neighbors, etc are human too.
Step10
Remember success is rarely created by an individual. Most successful people have asked for help or had assistance in some fashion.
