Bringing a new baby into a home already governed by a toddler is tricky business. Its important to make a smooth transition with as little stress and commotion as possible.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Baby
  • Toddler
  • Help
  • Patience
Step1
Leave your baby at home during the birth and recovery period. He will only get to see you for a few minutes or hours and the trauma of being ripped away will be too hard.
Step2
Don't make too much fuss about bringing home the second baby. Instead, pay more attention to your toddler, introducing the new baby only when he seems interested.
Step3
Slowly let the toddler explore the new baby. Try not to react too harshly to your toddler wanting to touch the baby.
Step4
Give your toddler extra hugs and kisses.
