Things You'll Need:
- Love for Elvis Presley
- Elvis music
- Money (optional)
- Elvis Dvd's
-
Step 1
The first thing you can do to celebrate Elvis week is to listen to Elvis music. Break out your old records, cds, tapes, even an eight track tape if you have it. Loose yourself in the cool rhythms of his music and the velvet sounds of Elvis' voice. It can be very relaxing and relieve your stress.
-
Step 2
Next you can watch old videos or DVD's of Elvis Presley. Celebrate his memory by watching the old 68 Comeback Special, where Elvis was looking and sounding his best. Or Watch one of Elvis' movies such as King Creole or Viva Last Vegas, any of his movies will surely put a smile on your face and remind you of the good old days.
-
Step 3
If you really want to celebrate Elvis Week in style, take a trip to Memphis. Book a hotel room and get tickets to Elvis' home Graceland. Or get tickets to any of the special Elvis events going on in Memphis, Tennessee.
-
Step 4
Visit the official Elvis Presley website to get deals on travel and accomidations when visiting Memphis during Elvis Week. The website has a list of events that will take place during the week and also prices and what time each event begins.
-
Step 5
Lastly, remember to have fun. Introduce your kids to the King of Rock and Roll, if they don't know who he is already. Elvis was so popular, most cities celebrate Elvis Week one way or another, so find a local event. Either way, be sure to show him a little "hunka hunka burning love" and celebrate Elvis Life!

on 7/21/2008 I didn't even know there was an Elvis week. I like some of his songs, but not enough to be called a die hard fan.
