Christmas is one of the most stressful times of the year when it should be one of the most joyous times of the year. It should be a time of thankfulness instead its a time of Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Here are some to tips to save money during Christmas

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

People go into debt because they overspend around Christmas time and they spend the rest of the year trying to catch up. Isn't it funny how must of get instead credit approval during Christmas. People actually get loans during Christmas to buy gifts. Let me restate that people use borrowed money they don't actually have from banks. The same people then repay the loan by making the minimum payments allow Mr bank to put presents under his tree off of your interest, just for a few seconds of excitement. Am I the only person that notices the excitement and anticipation leading up to Christmas day and then after all the presents are opened you are sort of saying to yourself now what. Wow what a great way to teach our children materialism going broke for Christmas presents. If that ain't enough you go to the store and people are actually fighting over the last toy on the counter, or the closest parking spot. Have people ever heard of live within your means. It is better to give than to receive but it foolish to give what you don't have.

  2. Step 2

The best way to save money during Christmas is to start buying gifts right now and hiding them. Its funny how parents go crazy over buying the latest game system for their kids just because it just came out. If you just wait a couple of months the price of the game systems goes down allot. Its also a good lesson on patience in this for your child to learn as well.

  3. Step 3

If shop for Christmas gifts all year you will catch plenty of clearance sales. Seasonally stores always go out with the old and in with the new. Right after Christmas all of the trees and the lights and decorations go 50 to 75% off. Why wouldn't you buy your Christmas decorations after Christmas and save them for next year unless your impatient. I think if people aren't patient enough to purchase items for a fraction of the cost just because it won't get used until the following year, then you obviously aren't trying to save money are you? Even if you prefer to wait to get the new toys, I bet you it will probably be in the trash by next year anyway. Have you ever thought about how long your kids play with Christmas toys anyway. Does your kid play with every Christmas toy they got all year long. If you Purchase a few gifts hear and there throughout the year you will be surprised at the end of the year with how many presents you have accumulated.

  4. Step 4

Imagine how less stressful the holiday would be if you were finished shopping in October or November. What could you do with the extra cash?

Tips & Warnings
  • Right now is the perfect time to start shopping for Christmas.
  • If you decide you want to wait for the new stuff then set aside a certain amount of money every month to go towards Christmas
  • Set a budget during Christmas some people don't even realize how much you spent. Some people will wait to everything rings up at the counter and act surprised when they see the price instead of putting stuff back they go ahead and overspend.
