If you have any symptoms of flu or joint pain, these tips on using garlic will help alleviate them almost immediately and if used consistently will keep both at bay.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • access to red skin garlic
Step1
Go to a health food store if possible and purchase an organic purple skin garlic bulb. The bulb will look predominately white with purple tinges of purple coloring throughout the skin.
Step2
To use purple skinned garlic to rid flu or cold symptoms and or pain, you will need to tear a clove off, peel the skin off and cut into medium slithers. Remember to take out the green thin root in the center of any clove. Leaving the green root in garlic, by the way, is what causes gas.
Step3
For Flu and or cold symptoms
the moment you feel one coming on, place a piece of garlic on the side of the cheek inside the mouth and just leave it there for about 10-15 minutes, unless it begins to become uncomfortable. Another variation and the one I like better is to put a silver under the tongue. Keep the mouth closed and just go about whatever it is that you want to do for as long as you can. Both methods can be repeated throughout the day. The absoulte best method is to take a clove, remove the root, dice the clove and put in a tablespoon of olive oil and swallow. This works wonders and is also extremely beneficial for digestion. If you are very ill, it is worth doing this mid evening, before you go to sleep and two times or more and or every 2-4 hours during the night. You'll probably awaken during the night any way, why not try the garlic. Drink plenty of water if you can during this method too. It's not necessary, just will help flush out flim.
Step4
For joint pain
Use the method of dicing the garlic and swallowing it inside a tablespoon of olive oil.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try liquid garlic as an alternative if you absolutely do not like the scent of garlic on your breath. I would not suggest using peppermints to take away the scent for peppermint will open your pores in a way as to actually make you more sick.
  • I do not know how garlic works with cold medicaitons. You will be using the method with that at your own risk. Those who use blood thinners, you already now it may not be the best of roots to use while on thinners. The truth of the matter is if you use the garlic rememdy, you won't need cold medications. Garlic works quietly.
