How to Make a Great Potato Casserole

This recipe will have your friends raving at your next potluck. It makes a ton, but everyone goes goofy over the leftovers - so you'll never be left with too much.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two bags of frozen diced potatoes (32 ounces)
  • Large Tub of sour cream (24 ounces)
  • Three cans of cream of potato condensed soup (Campbells)
  • Cheddar cheese (One pound, grated)
  • Dry onion soup mix
  • Salt and pepper
  • Bacon Bits (optional)
  • Chives (optional)
  1. Step 1

    Heat oven to 450 degrees.

  2. Step 2

    In a large bowl mix together the sour cream, the condensed potato soup and one packet of onion soup mix.

  3. Step 3

    To your liking, add salt, pepper, chives (optional) and bacon bits (optional)

  4. Step 4

    Mix in potatoes and cheddar cheese.

  5. Step 5

    Put mixture in a casserole dish (or two) and place in preheated oven. Bake for about an hour or until hot and bubbly.

  6. Step 6

    Wow your friends.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure your oven racks are low enough as not to burn the top before heating the whole dish through.
  • If you bring this to a potluck, be prepared to bring every time. People will fall in love with it.
