• pen
• paper
• dictionary or thesaurus
• calculator
• stock grid
• puzzle creator software like crossword compiler

1. Determine what daily themes you will use for your free printable easy crossword puzzles.
2. Decide on your entry words and make sure to vary the word lengths for interest and make it easy to fill in your printable puzzles later.
3. Count the total number of word entries and total letter spaces needed to create your printable puzzles.
4. Construct a grid size that best represents your total entry words and total number of letters. Most standard crossword puzzles are 15 x 15 but there can be many other printable variations and the format can be changed easy daily.
5. Write your clues for the entry words. You can use easy definitions, facts, trivia, synonyms, antonyms, etc. to keep your puzzles interesting to use daily.
