With 'The Dark Knight' right around the corner, Batman again is becoming another summer hit. But if you are unaware of the various Batman films, as well as the comics the movies were based off of, then fret no further, you too can soon become a Batman fan!

  1. Step 1
    'Batman Begins'
    'Batman Begins'

    Become familiar with 'Batman Begins'. 'Batman Begins' is the last movie produced before 'The Dark Knight'. Directed by Christopher Nolan, is is based on the comic book "Batman" of DC Comics. Villains in this film include The Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul. This film focuses on Bruce Wayne as a young child where he discovers the death of his parents, causing him to be obsessed with seeking revenge. Unfortunately at first he is forced to flee to the East where he seeks the ninja cult leader Ra's Al-Ghul. Later on he returns to Gotham City, which is now heavily ridden with crime. He is being swindled out of his business that he had rightfully inherited. He soon takes on a new persona, Batman, and soon takes down The Scarecrow and mafia don Falcone.

    'Batman & Robin'
    'Batman & Robin'

    View 'Batman & Robin'. Based on another DC Comic, 'Batman & Robin' is a film directed by Joel Schumacher. The villains in this film include Bane, Poison Ivy, and Mr. Freeze. Three super-heroes are featured in this film including Batman, Robin, and Batgirl. The villian Mr. Freeze attempts to take on Gotham City hostage by freezing the entire town, making it winter forever. Poison Ivy then arrives on the scene, hoping to destroy the partnership of Batman and Robin. In addition, while the butler is dying, Batgirl arrives on the scene to help save the day, for Mr. Freeze holds the key that can save the butler's life.

    'Batman Forever'
    'Batman Forever'

    Get familiar with 'Batman Forever'. 'Batman Forever' was produced in 1995 and was directed by Joel Schumacher as well. Batman and Robin battle up against the villains The Riddler and Two-Face. Two-Face is misinformed that Batman caused a courtroom accident resulting in his disfigured face and hopes to lead a reign of terror on Gotham City. Edward Nygma, a former employee of Bruce Wayne is out to help, and as The Riddler he attempts to drain the brains of the good citizens of Gotham, include Wayne's. The former circus acrobat Dick Grayson becomes Batman's new partner, Robin, for Two-Face has killed his family.

    'Batman Returns'
    'Batman Returns'

    Watch 'Batman Returns'. Directed by Tim Burton, 'Batman Returns' features Batman and his attempt to face the Penguin after his defeat of the Joker. Max Schreck, a businessman, is coerced by the Penguin to help him become Mayor of Gotham. Catwoman soon arrives on the scene when she is thrown from the top of a building and transformed, she was formally Max's secretary. Batman now struggles to clear his true name, while at the same time figuring out what to do with Catwoman. The Penguin and Catwoman are the villains.

  5. Step 5

    Watch 'Batman'. 'Batman', directed by Tim Burton, involved Batman and the villain The Joker. Gotham city becomes crime filled despite the powers of Havey Dent and Jim Gordon. Soon Batman arrives to save the city. Vicky Vale, a journalist, attempts to uncover the true identity of Batman. The Joker, Jack Napier, takes control of Gotham's underworld.
