Finally it’s here, the newly anticipated Apple iPhone 3G. With all the hype, it’s hard not to wonder if this phone is right for you. Here are some tips to help you decide if this phone is for you.
First and far most, I must say this phone is not a substitute for an in-car portable GPS navigator. Well at least not yet. However, all is not lost. There is a possibility that it could come later through a third party. For right now, Google maps provide point-to-point directions in real time.
Step2
Speed
The iPhone 3G carrier is exclusively with AT&T. With this said, most of the country is not covered for 3G speed. Make sure you consult your agent to make sure your area is covered.
Step3
Video
The video screen offers clear crisp and colorful images on it 3.5 inch screen. The only downside is that phone tends toward negative blacks and low contrast when viewing the phone at an angle.
Step4
Camera
Unfortunately, the camera is still equipped with the 2-megapixel shooter as the original model.
Step5
Quality of the call
The 3G network carries data faster with a noticeable clearer and sharper call quality when connected.
Step6
Internet connection
Unlike the first generation, the 3G has a faster connection with full internet. An added feature is the ability to talk and download at the same time. Another added feature is the ability to access the calendar and address book content directly to the phone through Microsoft Exchange and Apple’s Mobile Me
Step7
Battery Unfortunately the battery life is somewhat short lived. But that’s to be expected with advancement.
