Table salt and a vacuum can really surprise you. If you have pets in you home, chances are you've seen a flea or two.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • vacuum
  • table salt
Step1
You'll need more than what you put on your green beans, but just imagine that the carpet in your living room is a really large pile of green beans. Sprinkle it all over the carpet. Let it sit in the carpet for a while.
Step2
Vacuum it up. Fleas don't like salt, so it "uproots" them from the carpet some, making them more available to be pulled up by the vacuum.
Step3
If your flea problem is really really bad, you may want to do this everyday for a couple of days.

Since you won't be getting rid of your pets anytime soon, you can then probably continue to this every week or every other week.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do this specifically where your problem is. Probably the rooms where your pets are.

on 10/12/2008 My vet told me that 20 Mule Team Borax works in a similar way. I'm all for natural approaches.
