Scented pillows are pleasant smelling, useful and fun to make! They can be used to freshen clothing draws, closets, even cars! You can also use them to help promote a restful sleep.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 clean old/new sock.
  • 1/2 cup of dried flowers and/or seeds.
  • Needle
  • Thread
  1. Step 1

Take any dried flower petals and/or flower seeds of your choice such as: Lavender seeds, rose petals, mugwort. Measure 1/2 cup and put to the side.

  2. Step 2

Take a clean old/new sock and fill with your 1/2 cup of flower petals and/or seeds.

  3. Step 3

You may tie a knot at the end of the sock to close the pillow, or you can sew the sock close and cut off the extra material left over for a more clean look.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a pattern sock for a more trendy look.
  • Use a cotton based sock such as Hanes.
  • Mix and match different flowers and seeds for a blended scent.
  • Not only can you use a sock but you could get bargain fabrics and make your own little pouches and seed pillows for all over the home. EBay has a wonderful fabric store with awesome prices! The link is in the resource section of this article.
  • Amazon.com has a wonderful selection of seeds at great prices, I found them to be a wonderful place to shop. The link to seed products at Amazon.com is located in the resource section of this article.

on 8/26/2008 I have lots of socks I have intended to throw away. I do like crafting but I admit I never thought at making this. Great idea and great use of old socks. 5 deserved stars!

Now I have to think what scents I will use:D !
