Make Sugar Cookies

Baking homemade cookies is always better than grocery store bought cookies, without question. Here is a simple recipe on how to make sugar cookies and they are wonderful.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour (self-rising)
  • Dash of salt
  1. Step 1

Step one in this cooking process is to cream together the butter and sugar. Once you have this to a nice and smooth consistency, add in the eggs and vanilla flavoring and beat well. If you do not have a good mixer, you will definitely want to heat up the butter just a little to soften it up, or your arm will really get a good workout.

  2. Step 2

Now add the two cups of self rising flour, just a dash of salt, and mix up well. If you are using salted butter, you do not want to add the dash of salt.

  3. Step 3

Drop the cookies into small round balls , using a teaspoon, onto a baking sheet with a light coating of non-stick cooking spray. Bake in the oven at approximately 350 for abour 12 minutes. If you make the balls to thick, the inside of the cookie will not get fully done.

  4. Step 4

Now, you can garnish any way you like by adding a frosting, maybe sprinkles, or whatever you think will make them better. I have made these for friends, and they tell me I should cook these and sell them for a living!

Tips & Warnings
  • Be creative and have fun. For instance, if it is for Halloween, add an orange frosting, or maybe use a cookie cutter to make into fun shapes.
