If you are looking to buy a Gaming notebook, or just want a high performance notebook on a budget, or don't want to spend an extra $1000 for the name on the rig, and need help to configure a beast of a machine, or if just looking for the next best deal, Then you have come to the right place. You can configure a gaming Sager 15" notebook with 1280x800 wuxga resolution, single nVidia Geforce 9600M GT graphics card (class 2), Core2Duo P8400 Montevina Core 2.26 Ghz 1066 Mhz FSB , and load up with a 160GB 5400RPM SATA 150 hard drive all for less than $1000.

  1. Step 1

  2. Step 2

    Configure Display for the ultimate resolution:

    1200x800 WXGA

    (Can be upgraded to 1680x1050 WSXGA resolution)

  3. Step 3

    Choose processor type:

    (Dual Core) Intel Montevina Core2Duo P8400 2.26 Ghz w/ 6MB L2 cache-1066Mhz FSB

    (Can be upgraded to a T9600 Core2Duo 2.8GHz)

  4. Step 4

    Choose video Card type:

    512MB PCI-Express nVidia Geforce 9600M GT GDDR2 DX10

    (This is a class 2 performance card. Class 1 is best while anything lower than class 3 is unsuitable for gaming)

  5. Step 5

    Choose Primary hard drive type:

    160GB 5400RPM SATA 150

    (Can be upgraded to 320GB 7200RPM SATA 300, 500GB 5400RPM SATA 300, etc.)
