Things You'll Need:
- paper made through step 9 of Basic Technique
- glitter
- sequin stars and shapes
- tiny threads and bits of yarn
- tiny artificial flower petals... tiny
- tiny snippets of ribbon or lace
- other pretty things with which you want to embellish your paper.
-
Step 1
Once you have mastered the basic technique you can embellish your paper by dropping small items onto the surface of the piece of paper you are pulling right before you pull it from the bin of slurry.
-
Step 2
Holding your hoop below the surface of your slurry... add your embelishments to the surface of your paper... slowly and gently pull the paper the rest of the way up through the slurry so that the embellishments are thinly covered by a layer of pulp...
-
Step 3
Remove the paper from the hoop and dry as in basic techniques... allow sufficient time for drying.
-
Step 4
If need be, you can apply small quantities of slurry to the paper over the embellishments from and spoon or eyedropper to better embed the embellishment. Experiment... it is not an exact science... it is an art.... Children will want to embellish with many things... most of them inappropriate to the medium. I usually let the try.... and if it does not work out we can glue the item to the finished paper....
-
Step 5
Be creative and
Enjoy,
Angel
