This pear and ginger cake recipe makes a great dessert and serves 4-6 people.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • 3/4 cup superfine sugar
  • 7/8 cup sweet butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 self rising flour sifted
  • 1 pound pears peeled cored and sliced thin
  • 3 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten
Step1
Add oil to the bottom of an eight inch cake pan.
Step2
Whisk together 3/4 cup of butter, white sugar, flour, ginger, and eggs.
Step3
Put cake mix into pan and even out the surface. Add the pears over the cake mixture in the pan, sprinkle brown sugar, and add remaining butter.
Step4
Bake at 350 degree fahrenheit for about 40 minutes.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can serve with ice cream or some other heavy cream.
  • You can stick a knife into the cake, and if it comes out clean, you know that the cake is done baking.
