Things You'll Need:
- lamp
- shallow dishes with water
- flea collar
- flea shampoo
- flea comb
- vacuum
- insecticidal carpet shampoo
-
Step 1
To prevent more fleas from entering the house, bathe your pets in flea shampoo and thoroughly comb fur with a flea comb. Place any fleas in soapy water to kill them. Put new flea collars on each of your pets.
-
Step 2
Wash all infested linens, curtains, towels, and clothing in hot soapy water to remove and kill any larvae or eggs.
-
Step 3
Shampoo carpets with insecticidal carpet shampoo. Immediately follow with vacuuming.
-
Step 4
Vacuum carpets and immediately remove the vacuum bag. Place the vacuum bag in a sealed freezer bag and place in the freezer for 30 minutes to kill fleas. You can then reuse the vacuum bag to get even more fleas.
-
Step 5
After dark, place a lamp in the center of the room with shallow dishes of soapy water around it. The fleas will be attracted to the light, and jump into the water.
-
Step 6
Hose down any outside areas your pets frequent, to drown out fleas, eggs and larvae.

on 8/14/2008 This worked great! So far all I tried was the Dawn soap and water in a dish. I plan on using the rest of your suggestions. Thank you so much.
