Step 1
Three or four days before your trip, consider taking extra vitamin C to boost your immune system. There are millions of germs on an airplane.
-
Step 2
If you are on a long flight, get up periodically and walk around. Sitting for long periods of time can cause blood clots in your legs. If you can get the exit row, take it. There's more leg room. Better yet, always get an aisle seat.
-
Step 3
Have a cold starting? Make sure you take a decongestant before the flight. This will shrink the sinus membranes. Ears plug easily? Chew gum when the plane takes off and lands.
-
Step 4
Always bring a light jacket or sweater with you. Sometimes planes are hot and sometimes they're cold. Settling in for a sleep? Avoid taking off your shoes. Because of the low air pressure, you'll end up with swollen feet.
-
Step 5
Avoid that alcoholic drink and caffeinated drinks. The air is dry and the drinks will dehydrate you. Stick with water.
-
Step 6
Bring magazines or a book. Bring your own headphones. I use Bose headphones, so I can eliminate all outside noise. And finally, carry a few snacks. Those pretzel snacks are really small! Now, sit back and be comfortable on the airplane.
