    Instructions

      • 1

Find a spot in your garden that gets plenty of sun and clear away grass can remove any grass root down to a depth of six inches.

      • 2

Place an old car tire over the spot and plant three potato "seeds" or slices of potato containing the sprouted eyes in a holes at the bottom of the tire.

      • 3

Over the next few days as the potatoes sprout up above the surface, add more dirt until it is time to add another tire on top of the bottom one and repeat the process. As the potato shoots pierce the surface add more dirt and tires up to a total of three tires.
When it is time to harvest you only have to remove each tire, one by one, shake off the dirt and wash the potatoes.
This method is a lot easier than digging them out of hard ground and you will have less problems with rot, especially if you have wet soil.
