Many people want to work from home; however, challenges arise when wading through the amount of garbage offered on the internet. Let me help you navigate and find legitimate jobs you can work from home.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Willingness to research
  • Resume
  • Home office equipment
  • Patience
  1. Step 1

Prepare: You'll need to conduct a lot of research to land a good work from home job. Make a list of job interests and visit legitimate work from home sites to uncover more information. Some sites include wahm.com and my own site - workathomeasylum.com. If you're working now, see if your employer is open to allowing you the opportunity to work from home. Many jobs are landed this way.

  2. Step 2

Don't pay to work. This is the golden rule for working from home. Most companies requiring fees for working with them are either scams or business opportunies. There are a few exceptions, but the message boards should help you decipher friend from foe. Use them!

  3. Step 3

Make sure your home office is in tip top shape! You'll need a computer with dsl or cable access, a landline phone, and possibly a headset. Unfortunately it's rare finding a company allowing the use of dial up, VOIP, or satellite access.

  4. Step 4

It may take awhile to land a legitimate work from home job, but it can be done with time and persistence. Remember, these jobs are in high demand and competition is fierce so make sure your resume screams "hire me" and keep trying. Visit my site listed below for more information.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ask questions on the message boards if you're unsure of a companies' legitimacy.
  • Once working, diversify your income stream with more than one company if possible. Some of these positions are project-related and you don't want to be left hanging with no job if the economy goes crazy or your project ends.
  • Watch out for scams! Check companies with the BBB and the ripoff report before signing on the dotted line.
