How to Entertain A Group Of 4-6 Year Olds

Need a quick and super easy project to entertain a group of 4-6 year olds? Here is one that only takes minutes to set up and can keep them busy for a long... long time... It is a bit messy... but is perfect for an outdoor party followed by a dip in the pool or a run through the sprinkler...

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• large plain cookies
• icing in tubes
• colored sugars
• little candies of various colors and shapes

1. If you are doing this indoors you might want to clear out an area and put down a painters drop cloth.
2. cover a short table.... like a coffee table with a plastic tablecloth... tape it in place on the underside...
3. make a station for each child on the table... a place for them to work. put a large plain cookie at each station and some tubes of icing.
4. add little bowls of small candies and shakers or bowls of colored sugar in the center of the table where each child can reach them.
5. show the children how to decorate a cookie with the icing in tubes and the little candies and colored sugars...
6. stand back and be ready to help if necessary...
7. let the children eat their work....
8. take lots of pictures and videos... they will be priceless...

Tips & Warnings

• The fun is in the process of doing... not in the finished product.
• The finished product may not look like much to your eyes... but the child will be looking with different eyes... and will see the fun they had in making it.
• This will be a messy project... be prepared for that... If the children are dressed in good clothing give each child a white t shirt... a big one to where over their clothing... this will cover them better than an apron...
• a dip in the pool or a run through the sprinkler makes a nice next activity if they are dressed in swim suits...
• The children may decide to decorate themselves and each other...
