How to Make Hot Slaw

Want to make an impression at your next family gathering or church potluck. I have made this slaw for several years and it is requested at all family potlucks and church dinners. This dish is very easy to make and delicious.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 24oz bottle catsup
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 to 2 tbsp Lousina Hot Sauce
  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • 1 onion
  • 4 or 5 tomatoes
  1. Step 1

    Shred cabbage ( about 1/8 inch thick) with sharp knife. do not use food processor or blender.

  2. Step 2

    After shreding cabbage, chop with hand chopper or knife until cabbage is in about 1/4 inch pieces.

  3. Step 3

    Chop onion and add to cabbage .

  4. Step 4

    Wash and core tomatoes, peel if desired.

  5. Step 5

    De-seed Tomatoes by squeezing tomatoes.

  6. Step 6

    Chop tomatoes and add to cabbage mixture.

  7. Step 7

    Mix together catsup,sugar,apple cider vinegar and hot sauce. Mix well pour over cabbage mixture and toss until cabbage mixture is well coated.
    Cover and keep refigerated untill serving time.

  8. Step 8

    Will keep 2 to 3 days in refigerator.

Tips & Warnings
  • Sometimes I will add to the dressing if I need extra. Hot sauce can be adjusted to taste.
