In Call of Duty 4, there are a two missions that take place involving Captain Price's experience during an assassination mission with his fellow soldier. You play as a sniper in a ghilli suit along with a fellow soldier sneaking through the remains of Chernobyl. It's one of the more difficult levels in the game and at times requires an amount of patience at times.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or PC

    All Ghillied Up

  1. Step 1

Follow Captain MacMillan through the beginning of the level. You will have to follow his lead throughout the majority of both levels, as he will warn you and assist you with movement. Avoid any radioactive signs as they will kill you if you are exposed long enough.

  2. Step 2

Pay attention to MacMillan's commands and recommendations when approaching enemies. At the start, he will tell you to take out a tango or give you the option of letting them pass by. If you are found, enemies will come out of the house after you, as well as dogs.

  3. Step 3

Pass through the church tower through the graveyard. MacMillan will warn you to go prone when the hind is about to pass. After it goes by follow him through the field until he tells you to get down. A large number of enemies and tanks will head towards you. They will pass by if they don't spot you or run into you while in the prone position. Move only a little so that they do not spot you and make no sudden movements. Once they are gone, continue through the field.

  4. Step 4

Go through the area of helicopters until you see the soldiers. It is possible to kill all of them without being spotted or you can take out all of them. To sneak by them, use the same movements in the previous step by going prone and avoiding the soldiers slowly. To kill them all, take out the three walking by when they are not looking at each other, then work with MacMillan to take out the two by the water.

  5. Step 5

Continue through the metal crates and let MacMillan take out the two guards. Leave the small group of guards be and slowly go by them. You will approach a metal crate and open the double doors. You will see numerous soldiers around trucks and jeeps.

  6. Step 6

Follow MacMillan exactly and don't move unless he says so. If you stay as close to him as possible, follow his exact movements, and none of the soldiers should see you. Don't attempt to take out any soldiers. After you pass through, you will approach the city. Take out the guard at the top of the staircase and continue on.

  7. Step 7

Go through buildings of Chernobyl with MacMillian. You will encounter no guards and only one wild dog, which you can avoid. Eventually, you will approach the hotel and the first part will end.

  8. One Shot, One Kill

  9. Step 1

Equip the sniper rifle after the cut scene ends. At this point, you can zoom in on the group of guards. Zakhaev's vehicle will approach, and he will step out into the open. Because of the long distance, the bullet will be affected by the wind direction. Look at the flag by the vehicle to see which direction the wind is going. At one point, a helicopter will hinder your shot. Let it pass and then continue to aim for Zakhaev. The wind will eventually slow or stop, but the aim must be quick and precise as Zakhaev will move around frequently before eventually leaving. Once you have the shot, take it.

  10. Step 2

Zoom out on the sniper rifle after Zakhaev is down. The helicopter from earlier will come for you and MacMillan, but it can be easily taken out with a sniper bullet to the pilot. As the chopper goes down, follow MacMillan to the rappelling ropes and escape the hotel.

  11. Step 3

Run away from the hotel after reaching the ground. Follow the new target that appears on your screen. Guards will be pouring out and going after you. Kill as many as necessary to break through their forces. You cannot kill them all and you must continue to the pickup site.

  12. Step 4

Weave your way through the buildings fighting off any enemies that appear. Another helicopter will appear halfway through and can be taken down with the sniper rifle. However, the chopper will land on MacMillan, injuring his leg. You will have to carry him to the landing site from this point. When ambushed by enemies, you can set MacMillan down and take them out. He will be able to assist you too, so place him in a good spot. The pickup site is when you reach the large Ferris wheel.

  13. Step 5

Set MacMillan down at the targeted area and set up your defense. The Chinook will take some time to arrive and the enemy is fast approaching. Set up claymore mines and C4 in strategic areas where enemies will pass by. After a few minutes, the choppers will arrive over head and enemies will run in from your original path. You can pick off soldiers from the helicopters as they slide down the ropes. It might also be best to trade the USP for an automatic rifle lying around. The battle will be long, so find go hiding areas where you can go back and forth to hide and pick off the enemy. When the distance of the Chinook reaches zero meters, it will land in the center of the battle.

  14. Step 6

Pick up MacMillan and bring him to the helicopter. You will have backup from the Chinook to take out the surrounding soldiers. Set MacMillan down in the helicopter and wait for it to take off.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to follow everything Cpt. MacMillan tells you. It will keep you alive longer and help you get through with more ammunition. The last part of the second level is one of the hardest parts of the game, depending on difficulty. One easy (but cheap) way to make it through is to hide behind one of the trees by MacMillan, going prone and letting the enemy come to you so you can pick them off.
