How to Compile a Video Using Nero Burning Rom
When editing together a video or movie that you wish to put to DVD, you may find yourself using five or six different programs to make sure everything comes out the way you would like. This could end up taking a lot of time, but with Nero Burning Rom, you can actually cut that time in half with their custom built-in movie editor. It is simple to use and will allow you to create professional looking videos for your custom DVD.

Open up the Nero Burning Rom program.

Click on the icon that says “Create your own DVD-Video”. A new window will pop up, showing you a lot of different options for the program.

Find the icon on the right that is labeled “Make Movie…” This is the third icon down on the right.

Watch as Nero’s movie compiler will now pop up. In the top left you see the preview screen. In the top right you will see a file list, and on the bottom, you will see the timeline that your movie will be made in.

Choose the icon with the folder and the magnifying glass to load media for the project. They accept several different formats and will tell you if the footage is incompatible.

Load all of the clips that you want for the project, and keep them organized by folders so you do not lose track. There will be a small icon to the left of each clip, showing you a screen shot of the video.
Putting it All Together

Drag down the first clip that you wish to put in the video

Click on the fourth tab in the upper right hand corner if you want to add a transition before or after this video clip. There are several categories of transitions, from simple fades to special effect things like explosions.

Click on the second tab in the top right of the program if you want to add any effects to your video. From flames to waves, there are several things you can do to enhance all or just part of the video clip. Just simply drag and place the effect where you would like it to be.

Preview the effect or transitions by playing the clip in the timeline window.

Add in more clips to the video. If you want to trim the clips, click on the second tab in the timeline window. This will bring up a more detailed look at your current video project.

Click and drag at the beginning or end of a clip to edit it down shorter.

Continue to add in clips and transitions as needed. You can also click the first tab in the upper right corner to add text into your project. The text can overlay a video or be a scene of its own.

Click the next button when you have finished compiling your video. Proceed until the DVD is burned and you can test it in your DVD player.
