How to Draw Sonic the Hedgehog

Ever since his debut on Sega Genesis, the video game character Sonic the Hedgehog has been embedded into pop culture. Along with the numerous Sonic The Hedgehog video games, this character has also had toys, cartoons, and tons of merchandise. If you are a big fan of the blue haired hedgehog, then you may want to show that by drawing Sonic. He is a simple figure to draw and with a little practice you can start drawing immediately.

Things You'll Need

• Pencil
• Eraser
• Paper

Instructions

1. Start out the drawing with Sonic’s head. He is known for the large spikes on the back of his head and there are usually three. Draw two large spikes at the top and one about half the size down bottom.

2. 

   Extend the top spike on Sonic’s head to create the round shape of his skull. Add in a curved line to represent his cheek bone.

3. Draw Sonic’s eyes. The easiest way to this is by making a wavy M shape with the left side of the M a little than the right. Add in Sonic’s nose at the bottom of the right part of the eyes.

4. 

   Draw two large black pupils. Extends a wavy line from the nose and curve it a little bit past the left eye to create his jaw outline. Add in a half smile to complete the mouth.

5. Complete Sonic’s face with two ears and two eyebrows.

6. 

   Start the body with Sonic’s crossed arms. He wears gloves so illustrate this in your drawing. Continue down his back with one small spike and then a tiny tail.

7. 

   Extend Sonic’s skinny legs into a big pair of socks. Add in two large pointed boots, and put a stripe across each boot.

8. Edit any lines you went over on, and clean up the image.

9. 

   Color Sonic’s body blue and his shoes red if you choose to do so. Everything else stays white.
