How to Support Amniotic Stem Cell Research
With advanced technology, changes are happening more rapidly and becoming increasingly complex. Making personal decisions regarding the impact of this technology is not easy. Before doing so, it is important to read the pros and cons on both sides of an issue rather than relying on what other people say. One of these areas is amniotic stem cell research.

Joining Others to Promote Additional Research
-
1
Educate yourself on the topic so that you can provide strong and clear reasons for your support of this research. Although much of the work on passing and altering legislation and funding is backed by large well-endowed political and policy groups, much can be done by one person converting others. Spreading the word from individual to individual is the way many situations have changed for the better.
-
2
Join the cause by finding local, state and national groups that are working to continue support for amniotic stem cell research. You can find these organizations by going online or to your local library.
-
-
3
Write letters for your local newspaper's editorial page. Keep your thoughts brief--one-half of a typewritten page--and to the point. Make your letter personal, rather than quoting a lot of statistics. Explain why you individually support the cause or how stem cell research may help or has helped someone close to you. Keep it positive and do not attack the opponents.
-
4
Write letters to your local, state and federal government representatives. Also send a copy of this appeal with a personal note of support to your contacts, asking them to express their support to Congress and share with their networks as well. Forward onto co-workers, advocacy groups, friends, family, and anyone you know who has a stake in this cause.
