Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a fake styrofoam head. Many can be found online. They are often used to display wigs and are available in male or female.

    • 2

Apply two layers of liquid latex on the front side of the head, following the manufacturer’s directions. This will smooth out the Styrofoam texture and make the skin look fleshier. Allow it to dry and apply a layer of spray paint in the desired color to create your dummy’s flesh.

    • 3

Use makeup to create or enhance features on your dummy’s head. Purchase a basic makeup kit if you don’t have any. Outline eyes with eyeliner, apply eye shadow, glue on false eyelashes if you like, apply blush to cheeks and lipstick on lips. Create contours, such as hollowed cheekbones, temples or dimpled chins by applying a darker color makeup foundation or powder to that area.

    • 4

Make your dummy head look like the actor if the head is supposed to be an actor’s double. You can do this by using some of the same makeup or accessories on your dummy that you use on your actor. For example, use the same glasses, wig, moustache or eyebrows. Dress the body under your dummy’s head in the same clothing as the actor.

    • 5

Create fake blood to apply to your dummy head, if needed. Mix corn syrup, red food coloring and a small amount of chocolate syrup.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wear a painter’s mask when applying paint or other chemicals to your dummy that have noxious fumes. This will protect your from poisoning or brain damage.
