Notre Dame, located in South Bend, Indiana, is one of the most beautiful campuses in the U.S. Also located in South Bend is a plethora of great restaurants to fit every mood, every budget. There is no end to your choices of great dining here.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Be versatile. Enjoy yourself while visiting the area, and try different styles, ethnic flavors and atmospheres. Don your best flip flops, and take a seat at Doc Pierce's place on Main Street in downtown Mishawaka, just a few minutes from campus. Here you can enjoy a great bowl of seafood chowder or sip their special Bloody Mary known as the Transfusion found on their drink menu, also called the Special Prescription menu. If you're looking for a more upscale experience, grab your tie and best jacket when visiting Tippecanoe Place, located on West Washington Street, which is a 26,000-square-foot mansion built by the Studebakers in 1889.
Step2
Don't stray too far from campus. Don't be lured away by advertisements from restaurants that claim to be close by yet will take you a good 45 minutes to reach. There is no shortage of great restaurants near Notre Dame for you to enjoy. As the matter of fact, most visitors are unaware of the great dining available right on campus. Reckers cafe has comfortable seating that includes ottomans, lounge chairs and sofas, plus 100 typical dining chairs for a relaxed social experience. Reckers stays open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the food, which ranges from skillet breakfasts to pizzas made in their wood fired oven, is made to order.
Step3
Have fun. The local restaurants go out of their way to make your visit a pleasant one. Between the Buns, located on South Bend Avenue, is a casual restaurant decorated with local sports memorabilia. Each booth has its own flat-screen television, and the staff will entertain the kids on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with crafts they can make and take home. If it's a hipper crowd and nightlife you're after, you'll love the upscale chain restaurant, The Bonefish Grill. The bar boasts sleek marble block tables and bar stools. Eight different kinds of fish are flown in daily which can be savored with their signature appetizer Bang Bang Shrimp and a Lemon Drop Martini. When visiting restaurants near Notre Dame, The Bonefish Grill, found on Edison Road in Mishawaka, is a must on your "to-do" (and savor) list.
